Step one:
Request your entitlement forms D2 and D4 for free from the DVSA, then pass a D4 medical examination. Complete the forms with the doctor and return to Dvsa with your licence to get your provisional entitlement, allowing you to drive C+e class 1hgv. Existing Class 2 drivers can miss this step
Step two:
Study and pass an hgv theory test , also known as your Cpc part 2. There will be a multiple choice questions section and a hazard perception section.
Once you pass this test then you can apply for the practical driving tests. practical lessons can take place during this time if you spread them out instead of block booking.
Step three:
Pass your part 3A test which involves a reversing into a mock bay and coupling and uncoupling exercise. You must pass this test to be eligible to take the part 3 practical on road driving test.
Step four:
This is the Cpc part 4 test which is a case study followed by practical demonstration test. Once passed your (DQC) driver qualification card will be sent out.
This is valid for 5 years, during which time you need to complete 35 hours of periodic Cpc training to continue as a professional driver for the next 5 years.
Step five:
